Your journey will start right at the doorsteps of your hotel or Airbnb, where our friendly and knowledgeable tour guide will pick you up in a luxury vehicle. Next, you will head West on the Tamiami Trail, the first artificial road through the Everglades. As you enjoy the ride through the green prairies, you will learn about the history of Florida and the Glades, which started three hundred million years ago. You will see seven distinct Everglades ecosystems, all connected by fresh water and wholly dependent on one another for survival.
The tour guide will also tell you about the Native People who lived here 3000 years ago and the Miccosukee Indians and Gladesmen who live here today. On the way to the following location, you will likely see some wild animals in their natural habitat, like Gators, Ospreys, White-Tailed Deer, Hawks, Egrets, Great Blue Herons, and many others. We will stop at the famous Sweetwater Strand, one of the most photographed places in the park.
The tour’s next part is a captivating one-hour private airboat ride through the Sawgrass Marshes with two exciting stops at the “islands.” Finally, on our trip back to Miami, the tour guide will tell you about the current efforts to save and protect the Everglades, South Florida’s most important source of freshwater.
